Mayor’s resignation demanded

NEW DELHI: The Leader of the Opposition in the MCD, J. K. Sharma, on Thursday demanded resignation of Delhi Mayor Arti Mehra stating that under her governance the civic body had “failed to prepare the Master Plan for Solid Waste Management in the prescribed timeframe”.

According to Mr. Sharma, the Mayor had announced in July the formulation of a waste management plan which was to be completed by November. “An advisory committee comprising BJP councillors and NGO representatives was formed. But after that, not a single meeting of the committee was conducted,” he said.
