Bangalore/Coimbatore: Seven Ayyappa devotees, including two children, from K.R. Puram in Bangalore, were killed and two children injured when their vehicle collided with a truck on the bypass road near Sulur, on the outskirts of Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, in the small hours of Friday. According to police, a maxi-cab carrying nine devotees from Bangalore was returning to Bangalore from Sabarimala when it collided with a red chilli-laden truck from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh. The victims have been identified as Narayanaswamy (51), Maruthi (30), Kesu (31), Lokesh Khanna (34) and the driver of the vehicle, Lokesh (38). HospitalisedThe Sulur police admitted Arish (14), Poovan (9), Shanu (10) and a girl Poovidha (9) to a hospital. Arish and Poovan died at the hospital. The other two are undergoing treatment.
