Satasahasra Rudraksha pooja performed at Amalapuram

Amalapuram: Large number of devotees thronged Sri Sarva Mangala Ramalingeswara Prasannanjaneya Shirdi Sai temple here on Saturday for Satasahasra Panchamukha Rudraksha, Satasahasra Bilwarchana, Satasahasra Kumkuma poojas at the fag end of Karteekamasam. Devotees started coming to temple from early morning and Swami Paripoornananda Saraswati reached the pooja mantap around 8.15 a.m.

After Ganapati pooja, panchagavyam, trisoola pooja, chanting of mahanyasam, Rudrabhishekam was performed by Bramhasri Allavarapu Subrahmanya Deekshit Avadhani and Vaderevu Srinivasa Rao and Vilaparti Subrahmanya Sarma.

Temple committee Chairman Machiraju Ravikumar amidst chanting of hymns took thousands of Panchamukhi Rudrakshas that were brought from Varanasi along with Vedic Pandits to the main pandal where Sivalinga was erected.

According to Ravikumar, the temple committee has decided to perform Panchamukhi Rudraksha pooja for 11 years continuously. They have completed six years and this is the seventh consecutive year, he said.

Later, Swami Paripoornananda Saraswati along with Vedic pandit Subrahmanya Deekshit Avadhani started Satasahasra Rudraksha pooja. Amalapuram MLA Kudipoodi Chittabbai, MLC Gidugu Rudraraju, former minister Metla Satyanarayana, Municipal Chairman N. Vishnu Murthy and others participated in the pooja events.

Rudraksha pooja was followed by Bilwarchana, Sindhoora-Nagavallidalarchana, Kumkumarchana by women and other poojas along with Rudrahomam and Poornahuti.

In the evening Swami Paripoornananda Saraswati gave a discourse. Jythishbramha Bandhakavi Ramajogeswara Rao, Y. Pandurangarao, Tatavarti Raghunatha Rao, T.L.N. Kumar participated.
