Transistor bomb defused in Jammu and Kashmir

Poonch/Jammu: Security personnel on Saturday defused a transistor bomb in a thickly populated area in Poonch in Jammu division, police sources said here.

A police patrol party found an unclaimed transistor on the roadside in Sheesh mohalla of Poonch around 11.40 a.m.

The sources said that the security personnel suspected foul play and cordoned off the area. Experts were called immediately to defuse the bomb believed to have been planted by suspected militants.

A search operation had been launched, they added. — PTI
