A three-day International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Multimedia Applications 2007 (ICCIMA ’07) is going to be organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi during December 13 to 15, 2007. The very objective of this Conference is to provide a platform for promoting discussion and interaction in recent developments on Computational Intelligence such as, Artificial Intelligence, Neural Networks, Genetic Algorithms, Fuzzy Logic, etc., and Multimedia Technologies such as, Multimedia Information retrieval, Image indexing and retrieval, virtual reality, Image / Video Compression, Video Conferencing etc. The International Conference – ICCIMA is conducted once in every two years. The last ICCIMA was conducted in 2005 at Las Vegas, USA while the ICCIMA ’03, ’01, ’99, ’98 and ’97 were conducted in Japan, China, India, Victoria - Australia and Queensland - Australia respectively. The ensuing ICCIMA ’07 is the seventh one of this kind and is to be held for the second time in India. As much as 450 papers have been accepted and registered for the presentation in the conference. It is expected that around 400 to 450 delegates like Researchers, Academicians and Industrial Personalities will participate from various parts of the country. Foreign delegates numbering 22 are expected from abroad to attend the conference and to deliver invited talks, present papers and also to display posters during the conference. The conference will be inaugurated on the 13th December, 2007.The inaugural function will be presided over by Thiru A.Vairaprakasam, Correspondent, Mepco Schlenk Engineering College. Dr. S.Kaliappan, Vice Chancellor,Anna University, Tirunelveli will be the Chief guest of the function. Dr. S.Balakrishnan, Principal, Mepco Schlenk Engineering College will deliver the Welcome Address. Dr. Sankar Kumar Pal, Director and Distinguished Scientist Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkatta, will deliver the Keynote Address on Machine Intelligence, Computational Theory of Perception and Rough-Fuzzy Computing. Dr.Henry Selvaraj, Professor and Chair, Department of Electrical and Computer Engg., University of Nevada, Las Vegas, USA will felicitate and present the Roadmap of ICCIMA. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
