Norms for distribution of house site pattas revised

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Government has, through an order, withdrawn income ceiling for distribution of house site pattas to those occupying the area for more than 10 years.

Welcoming the order, Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram said it would enable distribution of four cent of land in rural areas, 2.5 cent in municipalities and 2 cents in corporations, irrespective of annual income.

He thanked the Chief Minister for revising the guidelines.
