Subrahmanyeswara Shasti celebrated

Rajahmundry: Hundreds of devotees thronged Lord Subrahmanyeswara Swami temples on Saturday on the occasion of the celebrations of lord’s shasti.

At the Bikkavolu Subrahmanyeswara temple, which is famous in East Godavari and West Godavari districts, a few hundreds of devotees thronged the temple to seek blessings since wee hours. There were long queues up to two to three kilometres. The temple authorities have made all the arrangements to control the serpentine queues of devotees in a systematic way. Abhishekams with milk started around 3.30 a.m. and it continued till 4.00 p.m. In between there were special poojas for the god and goddess Valli and Devasena.

Special poojas and abhishekam were conducted at Subrahmanyeswara Swami temple in Rajahmundry, The pooja started around 1.30 a.m. Special arrangements were made by the temple committee for the convenience of devotees. Kalyanam was performed on Saturday night on the temple premises. Uma-Markandeya Swami Temple on the bank of river Godavari, Uma-Ramalingeswara Swami temple in Jampeta were crowded with devotees from early hours to till midnight.
