Jawahar SC’s floodlit cricket

BANGALORE: Jawahar Sports Club, Bangalore, will celebrate its Diamond Jubilee Year with a Twenty20 second floodlit cricket tournament for the top eight first division teams in Bangalore.

The tournament — Impression Cup 2007 — will be held from December 19 to 25. Mr. Srinivas Reddy, a philanthropist and Bhadrinath Kamath of Impressions, are the top major sponsors for the tournament.

Seven top international sportsperson of yesteryear and eight cricket club secretaries will be honoured during the event.

Infosys wins

Infosys won the Ventures Checkmate corporate chess tournament that concluded in Bangalore during the weekend.

Infosys bagged the top slot with 14 points while Goldman Sachs secured the second spot and Cognizant was placed third.
