Azhagiri appears in Chittoor court

Chittoor: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi’s son M.K. Azhagiri, an accused in the murder of former Tamil Nadu Minister Kiruttinan in 2002 at Madurai, on Monday appeared along with 13 other accused before district judge Durga Prasad here amid tight security.

The judge adjourned the case to January 23 as the records transferred by the Tamil Nadu courts are in Tamil, which requires time to translate them into English.

On the plea of the petitioners, the Supreme Court directed the Chittoor court to take up the case as it felt that justice would not be done if the case was taken up in Tamil Nadu. — Staff Reporter
