NEW DELHI: With the mercury offering no relief to Delhiites since last week, Tuesday was no different with the minimum temperature settling at 4.4 degrees Celsius, the same as the season’s coldest day so far on Sunday. However, owing to the sun shining down brightly on Tuesday morning, the citizens were spared the familiar chill marking most winter mornings in the Capital lately. Meanwhile, no fog-related delays were reported at Delhi airport with flights proceeding more or less according to schedule. According to the weatherman, there seems some good news in store for Delhiites with the mercury expected to recover and settle at a minimum of 5 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, a clear rise of 0.6 degrees from the temperature recorded on Tuesday. Possibility of a partly clear sky and mist or shallow fog on Wednesday morning cannot be ruled out either, said the weatherman. Warmer days aheadThe British Broadcasting Corporation website has forecast relatively warmer days in Delhi with the minimum temperature hovering between 8 degrees Celsius and 11 degrees Celsius till Saturday. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
