Memo to be issued to Registrar

MADURAI: Madurai Kamaraj University Syndicate on Wednesday authorised the Vice-Chancellor to issue a memo to Registrar I. Singaram, seeking an explanation, within 15 days, on allegations of irregularities levelled against him.

Allegations include irregularities in the appointment of casual labourers (CLRs) and various other issues, university sources said.

According to officials, this decision was taken after a discussion at the meeting. The memo would be issued on Thursday, sources said. When contacted, Dr. Singaram, said that he was ready to give proper explanation to the authorities within the stipulated time.

“I am asked to reply and accordingly I shall do it,” he said after the meeting.
