VELLORE: The Ranipet SIDCO Entrepreneurs Association (RSEA) has appealed to the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited to install a base trans-receiver station (BTS) tower in the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) industrial complex in Ranipet to improve mobile communication facilities in the area, which at present are “poor.” In a letter addressed to A.S. Egaya, Chief General Manager, BSNL, Tamil Nadu Telecommunications Circle, Chennai, RSEA president R. Amirthakatesan said the entrepreneurs having their units in the Small Industries Development Corporation (SIDCO) industrial estate located within the SIPCOT complex are unable to pick up signals on their BSNL mobile phones. Though the BSNL is offering novel facilities, they are not reaching the customers in the SIPCOT industrial complex owing to shortage of BTS tower facilities. “The SIPCOT industrial complex is a high-paying area as far as the BSNL is concerned. Therefore, it should be given proper communication facilities,” Mr. Amirthakatesan said. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
