Three held for removing rail bolts

Golaghat: Three persons were arrested on Saturday for stealing 32 bolts and roller bearings from a rail bridge over the river Doyang in upper Assam’s Golaghat district, that could have derailed the Guwahati-Moriani Express on Friday.

The bolts and rollers were found missing during routine inspection of the bridge between Jamuguri and Bhilagaon rail station, under Borpathar police station , said official sources.

All trains were either suspended or halted on the section for some time on friday till the repairs were made, the sources said.
