Hat-trick by Iffyani

NEW DELHI: Nigerian striker Iffyani scored a hat-trick as last year’s runner-up Indian Nationals defeated Shahdara Club 4-3 in a Group ‘A’ preliminary league match of the SAIL-ONGC DSA senior division football league here on Sunday. Anthony scored the other goal for Nationals which completed its engagements with 16 points to top the group.

Goals by Mahesh Bisht (2) and Kamal Rawat helped Shadara Club avoid relegation on better goal difference against former champion Simla Youngs.

In Group ‘B’, Young Men Sports Club came from behind to hold defending champion Indian Air Force, New Delhi, to a 1-1 draw. L.B. Victor scored for IAF and Virender equalised for Young Men, as the two teams finished with 10 and seven points respectively.
