Register for schemes, workers told

BANGALORE: The Karnataka State Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has evolved several welfare schemes, including health insurance, equipment loan and pension for construction workers. Workers can avail themselves of the benefits by registering as members, Additional Labour Commissioner C.M. Sitimani said here on Monday.

He was speaking after giving away identity cards to construction workers.

Rights activist Ruth Manorama urged the Government to reduce the membership fee for women and ensure that they register with the Board.
