New Delhi: Taking a tough stand against video piracy, a sessions court here has ordered sealing of a Delhi-based factory allegedly engaged in manufacturing pirated MP3 CDs of Hindi films and songs. Reversing a lower court’s decision to offer relief to the unit, the court said its re-opening would amount to legitimising its actions. “Releasing of the plant and machinery with the help of which he (owner) committed the alleged offence would amount to giving a licence to the company and its directors to continue with the unlawful activities of piracy,” Additional Sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur said, allowing the appeal of Indian Music Industry (IMI).
