Snow festival in Kashmir

TOURIST DRAW: Participants of a snow cycling competition in action at the Gulmarg ski resort on Tuesday. Organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department, the annual three-day snow festival commenced with mass in a church. Snow cycling, night ice skating, races, skiing, snow rugby and cultural shows were among the attractions of the festival, said Tourism Director Farooq Ahmad Shah. The popular skiing resort was visited by a large number of foreign tourists last year and an increase this year was expected, Mr. Shah said.
