BANGALORE: The top two seeds, Rashien Samuel and Vishnu K. Jinan, entered the boys’ under-16 singles semifinals with emphatic victories in the KIM’s-AITA Talent Series junior tennis championship at the KIM’s courts here on Wednesday. Rashien stopped Rohan Gaonkar 6-4, 6-4, while Jinan also won by a similar margin against Surjeet Singh. Others to make the semifinals were third seed Ganga Singh and fourth seed S. Karan. In the u-18 singles, top seed S. Kamal, Sujith Sachidanand, Sujeeth Mathew and Vasanth Venkatesh made the last four. In the girls’ section, Rachana R. Gowda entered both the u-16 and 18 singles semifinals with easy wins, but the u-16 singles top seed, Yamini Reddy, had it tough against fifth seed S.P. Ritu, before she prevailed 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.
