TIRUPUR: Silver Jubilee of Tirupur branch of City Union Bank was celebrated here on Sunday. The bank chairman, S. Balasubramanian, said the bank had been playing a vital role of elevating the entrepreneurs who run small scale units into big industrialists. By adopting changing trends in the banking industry, the bank was extending all the help in tune with the changing requirements of its customers with human touch. Mr. Balasubramanian said the bank’s total business has touched Rs.10,000 crore, comprising Rs. 6,100 crore deposits and Rs.3,900 crore advances, a couple of days ago. With a wide network of 180 branches spread in different parts of the country, the bank has set a target of attaining Rs. 25,000 crore business in 2010, he said. M. Manickam, vice-chairman and managing director of the Sakthi Sugars, Coimbatore, lauded the bank’s role in the growth of trade and industry. MeetingThe bank organised a meeting of exporters on the premises of the Tirupur Exporters’ Association. The Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India chairman, A.V. Muralidharan, TEA president A. Sakthivel and M. Senthil Kumar, former chairman of Powerloom Export Promotion Council took part. Mr. Balasubramanian and N.
