Food poisoning: 97 children in hospital

TIRUVARUR: Ninety-seven children of the Government Middle School at Oothukadu village in Valangaiman taluk in Tiruvarur district were admitted to the Kumbakonam Government hospital after they complained of nausea after taking noon meal in the school.

The school has 209 students, of which 127 took noon meal on Thursday.

They were rushed to the hospital. Food poisoning is suspected.

Minister visits hospital

Minister for Cooperation Ko.Si.Mani visited the hospital and consoled the parents of the children.

He instructed the doctors to give proper treatment.
