TIRUPUR: The Tirupur Exporters’ Association has appealed to the Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to take steps to widen the highway between Tirupur and Tuticorin to bring down the transit time. A team led by TEA president A. Sakthivel submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister here on Saturday. They urged him to first take up widening of the road between Tirupur and Dharapuram for hassle-free movement of containers. It also sought installation of a dedicated power station for Tirupur to ensure uninterrupted power supply to garment factories. — Staff Reporter © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
