NEW DELHI: A 26-year-old woman was killed in Lodhi Colony here over the weekend when a speeding mini-truck hit her car. Shreya Anand and her fiancé Kabir Gusai were returning from Khan Market in the early hours on Sunday when a speeding mini-truck coming from the left side hit their car at a traffic intersection and dragged it along a few metres. Shreya died on the spot. Kabir, who was driving the car, escaped with minor injuries. Mohammed Aslam, the driver of the mini-truck, has been arrested and the vehicle impounded. Daughter of an Army officer, Shreya was a resident of Vasant Kunj. She recently got engaged to Kabir and the two were slated to get married early next year. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
