TRS to announce integrated Backward Class policy: KCR

MAHABUBNAGAR: Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K.Chandrashekar Rao announced that over 45 per cent of the seats would be reserved for Backward Class communities in the local bodies if the TRS comes to power.

Addressing a huge gathering of school and college students at a students’ awareness convention held in Gadwal town in the district on Monday, organised by the TRS Gadwal division unit, Mr Chandrashekar Rao said that his party would announce an integrated BC policy shortly which would be a guiding principle for the future government in Telangana.

He reiterated that 12 per cent of the posts in government departments and educational institutions would be reserved for minorities and Scheduled Tribes if the TRS formed the government.

He also reiterated that every Dalit family would be provided three acres of farmland besides subsidies for a year.

“If a TRS government is formed in Telangana state, which is inevitable, the first Chief Minister will be a Dalit and deputy chief minister a Muslim,” he reiterated.

The TRS chief said that water resources and revenue of Telangana region could be fully utilised for the region only if a separate State was formed.

Message to students

He exhorted the students to bring awareness among the common people about Telangana. Later, speaking to presspersons, Mr.Chandrashekar Rao said that his party would approach the Supreme Court over the stay granted by the High Court on the ruling of the National Environmental Appellate Authority over Polavaram. He asked the State Government to scrap the GO pertaining to concept schools and enhancement in section fees and inspection fees in private schools and colleges.
