Aid distributed to children, women

CHENNAI: Aids worth Rs.1 lakh were distributed to destitute women, children studying in corporation schools and mentally challenged children at a function organised by Sarojini Ammal Charitable Trust here on Monday.

The aids included items such as bed sheets, stationery, dress material and other educational aids for students.

Member of Parliament and Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice Chairman, E.M. Sudarsana Nachiappan distributed educational aids to members of Bala Vihar. Mayor M. Subramanian distributed aids to students studying in Chennai Corporation schools.

President of the trust R. Jeyachandran said the trust, founded in memory of his mother, has been helping the needy for the past three years.
