Hospital staff refuse to admit her as no complaint was registered with the police

SANGAREDDY: A twenty-five-year-old pregnant woman was allegedly raped by a gang of ten to twelve men on the outskirts of Sankapur of Ramayampet mandal during the wee hours of Tuesday.

The couple hailing from Sangaipalli of Chinnashankarampet arrived at Ramayampet town on Monday to see a bone-setter. After finishing their work, they reached Ramayampet bus stand around midnight. They were forced to hitch hike on a truck as no buses were available at that time.

The truck driver dropped them near Sankapur around 3.30 am. While they were waiting for a bus scheduled to arrive at 5 am, some unknown persons travelling in an auto spotted the couple sitting all alone in the darkness and pounced on them.

They initially posed themselves as policemen and insisted on frisking them. But they robbed the couple of all their belongings including cash and mobile phone. They later dragged the hapless woman to the bushes abutting National Highway Seven and raped her in front of her husband one after another. The victim is in an advanced state of pregnancy.

After the assailants fled, Pocha Goud took his badly bruised wife to the Ramayampet hospital.

He alleged that the hospital authorities refused to admit her as no complaint was registered with the police.

However, Ramayampet Circle Inspector Vijay Kumar intervened and instructed the police to investigate and the hospital staff to provide medical care to the victim. Pocha Goud told police that the gang were very brutal in their treatment.
