NEW DELHI: A 41-year-old science post-graduate and his 45-year-old accomplice were arrested at Lodhi Colony here on Tuesday for alleged involvement in several cases of auto-theft. Acting on a tip-off, a police team laid a trap on Bisham Pitamaha Marg in the morning, intercepted a Santro car and sought the ownership documents of the vehicle. When the occupants of the car -- later identified as Arun Kumar and Dinesh Sharma -- failed to produce the documents, both were arrested. The car was found to be stolen from the Hauz Khas police station area and a country-made pistol was seized, the police said. Arun Kumar, who hails from Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh, holds a Master of Science degree in Biology from Aligarh Muslim University. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
