JVV to hold rally

VISAKHAPATNAM: Jana Vigana Vedika (JVV) will hold a rally, which will be followed by a public meeting near the Mahatma Gandhi Statue, located opposite the GVMC’s office on Friday, to create awareness on the UNESCO’s theme – ‘International Year of Planet Earth’. General secretary of the vedika’s local chapter T. Kameswara Rao said that over 1,200 school and college students were expected to participate in the rally. Noted environmentalist and Padmashree awardee, Harsh Gupta, and director of Science and Technology, Government of India, Anuj Sinha, would lead the rally.

Among other things, the focus would be on shunning of non-recyclable material and ozone depletionThe participants would take a pledge to protect planet earth from ecological degradation.
