Medha calls for ‘third freedom struggle’

HYDERABAD: National Alliance of People’s Movements’ leader Medha Patkar has called upon the Arya Samaj to wage a ‘third freedom struggle’ against the UPA government’s ‘exploitative’ policies, including those on special economic zones (SEZs).

Speaking on the third day of the Arya Samaj International Conference here on Saturday, she interpreted the SEZs as ‘special exploitation zones’.

The Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) leader criticised the government’s stand and charged the Centre with of even violating the Constitutional provisions in ‘generously’ allotting land to rich industrialists and foreign companies.
