Empowering villages: Plantation workers return home after work at Meppady in Wayanad, the only district other than Palakkad where the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme is being implemented in the State. It is aimed at generating employment in villages and ensuring minimum wages to the beneficiaries and equal wages for men and women.
