161st aradhana of Thyagaraja

THANJAVUR: Chhattisgarh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan will inaugurate the 161st ‘aradhana’ of saint composer Thyagaraja, to be held at the samadhi on the banks of the Cauvery at Thiruvaiyaru, on January 23, according to G. Rangaswamy Moopanar, president, Sri Thyagabrahma Mahotsava Sabha.

Union Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation G. K. Vasan will participate in the function.

Rendering of pancharathna kritis in chorus will take place on January 27, Pushya Bagula Panchami day, when the saint attained samadhi.
