NEW DELHI: Members of Parliament’s Standing Committee for Transport, Tourism and Culture visited Delhi airport on Thursday and reviewed the progress of development and renovation work. At present work is in progress on construction of a new domestic terminal; a world class integrated passenger terminal (Terminal 3) and a third runway for the airport along with modernisation of the existing international terminal. “The members were shown the development being carried out by Delhi International Airport (Private) Limited across various sites. They took keen interest in the construction work and the technical aspects of the development. They also provided suggestions on various aspects,” said an official release on Friday. Runway work in progress“Work is progressing fast on the airport’s third runway. More than 69 per cent of the work on the runway and associated taxiways has been completed and the runway will be commissioned in mid-2008,” it added. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
