Bank holiday on January 15

BANGALORE: The State Government has declared January 15, Makara Sankranthi, as holiday for banks under the Negotiable Instruments Act, following a demand by employees of banks. Governor Rameshwar Thakur told reporters after a meeting of the Executive Committee on Friday that it has been decided to declare Makara Sankranthi as holiday.
