Ashutosh has given everything he has to this historical love saga, and has breathed life into every scene. Aided by A.R.Rahman, the screen will explode like fireworks for the sheer genius weaved into it. FILM: BHEEMA Star cast: Vikram, Trisha Director: Lingusamy, Producer: A.M.Ratnam Bottom line: Superstar Vikram returns to the silver screen after a two year hiatus in his career best, and his market value is to touch Rs.25 crores. Comeback film for the producer as well. Ratnam’s genius has helped deliver world class visuals and this is helping Tamil cinema reach a worldwide audience. FILM: DASAVATHARAM Star cast: Kamal Hassan, Asin Director: K.S.Ravikumar, Producer: Oscar Films Bottom line: Kamal in the role of his lifetime. Without a doubt, this could be next year’s official entry from India to the Academy Awards. The actor will also be known as the official book on acting worldwide, with accolades pouring in from the North to South Pole. FILM: MY NAME IS KHAN Star cast: Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol Director: Karan Johar, Producer: Yash Johar Films Bottom line: Fireworks and records. The most fantastic on screen couple of Indian cinema return after a seven year break. And yes, Karan has finally done it. Broken away from his usual melodrama, and is turning into a critically acclaimed director, with his story based on “9/11”. FILM: U ME AUR HUM Star cast: Ajay Devgan, Kajol Director: Ajay Devgan, Producer: Devgan Films Bottom line: Ajay’s first directorial venture, and the couple’s sixth film together. All their previous films were disasters, and everyone’s looking forward excitedly to see if they can create magic with this one. This film also has to salvage the production house. FILM: SARKAR RAJ Star cast: Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Director: Ram Gopal Varma, Producer: Adlabs Films / K Sera Sera Bottom line: The much awaited sequel to the blockbuster “Sarkar”. This film is the lifeline for RGV, as he could find an exit from the film industry if this does not succeed. The power packed star cast should help him get his foothold again.
