Militants attack house of municipal panel chief

Srinagar: Militants lobbed a grenade at the house of Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi, chairman of a Municipal Committee in Bandipora district, on Wednesday night, a police spokesman said here on Thursday.

However, the grenade exploded outside the house without causing any casualty.

Police registered a case and launched a hunt to nab the militants involved in the attack. The CRPF recovered a hand-grenade during vehicle checking at Kansipora in Baramulla district on Wednesday evening. It was recovered from a mini-bus, the spokesman said. — PTI
