“Karaikal holds more scope for employment”

KARAIKAL: There is tremendous scope for the youth of Karaikal region to get large scale employment as several mega projects including construction of Karaikal port, airport, Tirunallar temple city development works and Nagore-Karaikal broad gauge rail link will soon be implemented, said Chief Minister of Puducherry, N. Rangasamy, on Tuesday.

Inaugurating the ‘Karaikal Carnival 2008,’ the Pongal tourism festival here, he said that the festival had received enthusiastic support from the people. He pointed out that Puducherry had been adjudged as the best Union Territory in the country in implementing development projects for the third time this year. Earlier, catamaran race and cycle rally were conducted. A.M.H. Nazeem, Karaikal MLA and Leader of Opposition in the Puducherry Assembly, N. Vasanthakumar, V.K. Ganapathy, P.R. Siva, V. Omalingam and Marimuthu, MLAs spoke.
