BANGALORE: The Akhanda Karnataka Rajya Rasthe Sarige Karmika Mahamandali (INTUC) has urged the Government and the managements of four State road transport undertakings to hold a meeting with it before January 31. The meeting will be held to redress the grievances of nearly 75,000 workers. DemandsThe demands include an increase by 15 per cent in the basic salary with effect from January 1, increase in the daily bata from Rs. 19 to Rs. 150, incentive to conductors for selling bus passes, increase in the salary of trainee conductors and drivers from Rs. 2,500 to Rs. 5000 and stoppage of the driver-cum-conductor concept. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
