BANGALORE: Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court Cyriac Joseph inaugurated a passport camp for the benefit of members of Advocates’ Association, Bangalore, (AAB) here on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Cyriac Joseph said the approach of bureaucrats had changed these days and they were more receptive to the public.

He cited the example of the Bangalore Passport Office coming forward to hold the camp. The advocates should make use of the opportunity, he said.

Mr. Joseph said the first anniversary of the Bangalore Mediation Centre will be held on January 19. It will be inaugurated by the Chief Justice of India K.G. Balakrishnan. A meditation week will be organised throughout the State from February 3 to 9 in association with the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, to coincide with the anniversary.

President Pratibha Patil will pay her first visit to Bangalore to participate in the valedictory of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Karnataka High Court on February 1, Mr. Joseph added.

AAB president D.L. Jagadeesh said application forms would be distributed to members at all four units of the association from Thursday and the verification of documents would be done on January 23 and 24.

Regional Passport Officer A. Ravindra was present.
