Manoj shines in GCC’s win

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Ranji player Manoj Sai (81) helped GCC XI score a 31-run victory over Khadir XI in the Guntur District Cricket Association ‘A’ division league at Loyola Public grounds at Guntur on Friday.

The scores:

GCC 194 for seven in 25 overs (Manoj Sai 81, Srikanth three for 13) bt Khadir XI 163 for six in 25 overs (Saraswathy Reddy 50).

KCA XI 197 for nine in 40 overs (Sivakoti 40, Prabhu four for 35) bt Guntur Veterans CC 172 for six in 40 overs (Sekhar 48, Siva 44).

SRR & CVR wins

Host SRR & CVR College defeated Gudivada’s ANR College 10-2 in the kho-kho final of the two-day Krishna District inter-junior colleges games meet here on Friday.

In the throwball final, Kanumolu’s SCS Junior College defeated Vuyyuru’s Junior College 25-10.

KBN College’s M. Chandrasekhar Raju outplayed J. Sudhir Kumar of Pedana Government Junior College in the chess final. Regional Inspection Officer (Intermediate Board) K. Gangadhar inaugurated the meet.

Badminton tournament

Andhra Loyola College will play host to the two-day Andhra Pradesh Teachers Association’s badminton tournament from Saturday in which over 100 lecturers from various colleges will take part.
