NEW DELHI: An enforcement team of BSES power distribution company has booked three flour mills for theft of power by hooking from nearby BSES LV mains. A release by BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) over the weekend said the team had unearthed massive power theft totalling over 232 KW from the three mills in the Jafferpur area of Najafgarh. “While M.K. Flour Mill was caught stealing 73.26 KW of power, S.G. Flour Mill was caught stealing 85 KW of electricity. Yet another raid on S.K. Flour Mills unearthed power theft of over 74 KW,” said a BSES spokesperson. Following the raids, M.K. Flour Mills and S.G. Flour Mills were penalised Rs. 43.64 lakh and Rs. 25.79 lakh respectively, while S.K. Flour Mills was penalised Rs. 47.2 lakh under the Indian Electricity Act, 2003. The spokesperson said: “BSES began an intelligent analysis of the mills’ power consumption by using the latest technology and analytic techniques.”
