Man drowned

ALAPPUZHA: A 58-year-old man, Chellappan, drowned at Pulinkunnu, near here, on Friday night.

The Pulinkunnu police suspect Chellappan, a toddy tapper who was jobless, slipped and fell into a stream while returning home on Friday night. A search was started but he could not be traced. Finally, his body surfaced on Saturday morning.

It was handed over to relatives and the funeral held on Saturday afternoon.

The police have registered a case. — Staff Reporter
