Sports meet

The annual sports meet of Hill Top Public School, Puthiyara, was held at Zamorin’s High School grounds here recently. K. Jayendran, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kozhikode, inaugurated the 18th sports meet.

M.T. Muhammad Ali, school Principal, and P. Aboobacker, director, addressed the athletes.

A march past was followed by lighting of the flame by last year’s sports meet champion Navad.

R. Sasikala, staff secretary, and Ihab Muhammad, deputy leader of the school, spoke.

Bags award

Rahmania Vocational Higher Secondary School for Handicapped has won the ‘Best production unit award’ at the Vocational Expo ’08, conducted by the Vocational Higher Secondary Department, Vadakara region, as part of the Vadakara Vocational Higher Secondary School Arts Festival held at Meenchanda in Kozhikode city recently. Stereo hi-fi amplifier and FM, strollers for the paralysed, batteries and a kit for physiotherapy were some of the exhibits of the production-cum-training centre of the school.

These products cost less than those in the open market.
