VISAKHAPATNAM: An open Army Recruitment Rally will be conducted by the Branch Recruiting Office for enrolment of soldiers in various categories at the Indira Priyadarshini Municipal stadium here from February 1 to 3.The screening for Soldier Tradesman (Chef and Safaiwala) will be held on February 1 and the physical fitness test will be held on the next day. Candidates from Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts are only eligible for filling the vacancies in this category. The screening test for Soldier Technical and Soldier Nursing Assistant will be held on February 2 and the fitness test will be held on the next day. Candidates from Khammam, East and West Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts and the Union Territory of Yanam are eligible for jobs in this category. The tradesmen aptitude test will be held on February 3.The minimum educational qualification for Soldier Tradesman is a pass in 8th class for chef (cook) and a pass in 5th class for safaiwala and for Soldier Technical and Soldier Nursing Assistant categories candidates should have passed Intermediate or its equivalent. Candidates for all categories should be aged between 17 ½ years and 23 years. The minimum height for chefs and safaiwala trades is 166 cms and weight is 48 kg. The minimum height for the other two categories is 165 cms and weight is 50 kg.Candidates who have passed plus 2 in vocational subjects are not eligible for Soldier Nursing Assistant. Candidates attending the screening should bring the following certificates in original along with two Xerox copies duly attested by a gazetted officer with his name and seal. Provisional certificates will not be accepted. The certificates are: TC in original and mark sheet of last examination should be produced by non Matriculates, study and conduct certificates from the educational institute last attended, character certificate issued by the Village Sarpanch or Panchayat Secretary, Integrated Community, Nativity and Date of Birth Certificate (only in English) signed by the MRO on computerised format with SSID number and bar code, NCC Certificate (A/B/C), Certificate of outstanding sportsmen, eight last colour passport size photographs, dependent certificate (in case of son of service men/ ex-servicemen/war widow/widow) issued by the Records Office.Concessions in weight, height and chest will be given to dependents of servicemen/ex-servicemen and national and state level sportsmen as applicable. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
