Labourer killed at Metro site

NEW DELHI: A labourer was killed when a pit being dug for an underground water tank collapsed at a Delhi Metro construction site in Laxmi Nagar here on Monday.

According to a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation official, the incident took place around 1 p.m. The labourer was pulled out and rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital near Mayur Vihar where he was declared dead. He has been identified as 40-year-old Vijay Mandal.
