Medical staff stage dharna

Medical and Health Department staff, under the aegis of the Joint Action Committee of Medical and Health Organisations (JACMHO s), staged a dharna opposite the office of the District Medical and Health Officer on Monday protesting against the proposal of the State Government to trifurcate the department.

The agitating staff felt that the trifurcation would create problems in rendering medical services to the public besides affecting the seniority and promotions of the staff in some wings, according to INTUC city president K.A. Narayana Rao.
