New facility: Minister for Medical Education and Health Insurance, Galla Aruna Kumari and Chittoor district Collector S. S .Rawat handing over cash for deposit to the Indian Bank chairman M. S. Sundar Rajan at the bank’s new branch at Kanipakam in Chittoor district on Wednesday. Chittoor: The Government is determined to empower women economically and educationally in order to make them independent and be on par with men said Galla Aruna Kumari, Minister for Medical Education and Health Insurance. Addressing the meeting after opening the branch of Indian Bank on Wednesday at Kanipakam she said that in the past no bank management came forward in the country to start a branch at Kanipakam due to no economic feasible. At present several bank managements had opened their branches at Kanipakam following economic growth of the Varasiddi Vinayaka Swamy Temple. The Indian Bank Branch opened here will serve the interest of the people hailing from surrounding villages. Loan sanctionedIndian Bank chairman Sundarrajan told that 10 microsat Banks have been functioning in the country comprising 2 lakh members. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday he said that 2 more banks would be opened soon at Pune and Bangalore.
