Official makes surprise visit

VILLUPURAM: T.V. Somanathan, Chief Minister’s Secretary (Monitoring), made a surprise visit to the Taluk office here on Wednesday to verify implementation of the concessional cement sale scheme.

He called for applications and records from V. Veerappan, Deputy Tashildar, at the headquarters. The Secretary also ascertained from Mr. Veerappan on how the scheme was being explained to the beneficiaries. — Special Correspondent
