ARIYALUR: Village panchayat presidents should utilise the ‘Grama Sabha’ meeting to be held on January 26 to chalk out a priority-based rural developmental schemes to be implemented under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme (NREGP) during the next financial year, the District Collector, V. M. Xavier Chrisso Nayagam, said. Presiding over a training programme on the implementation of the NREGP here on Tuesday, he said that the scheme would ensure job for the agricultural labourers. The village panchayat presidents should identify the works to be implemented during the next financial year. Apart from creation of immovable assets, the scheme would also bring about rural development. He said that villages with meritorious proposals and meticulous execution would attract special concessions. The Project Officer, District Rural Development Agency, V.
