“It’s an attack on minorities”

Staff Reporter

Sangareddy: Minister for School Education Damodar Rajanarsimha speaking to reporters at a hurriedly arranged press meet at his residence on Wednesday described the attack on Minister for Cooperation Mohd. Fareeduddin’s convoy by Telangana Rashtra Samiti activists “an attack on minority communities in the State.”

Taking a serious note of the incident Mr. Rajanarsimha warned TRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao that Congressmen could pay him back in the same coin if he kept on encouraging violence.

He said that the weaker sections in the district particularly the Dalits and the minorities would unite to fight the feudalistic attitude of the TRS leadership.

Municipal vice-chairman Jalaluddin Baba warned the TRS that the minorities of the district would disrupt the students’ awareness programme to be addressed by Mr. Rao here on Thursday.

‘Eye-opener’

Mr. Baba said the attack on Mr. Fareeduddin must be an eye-opener to all the Muslims to whom Mr. Rao promised to offer the deputy Chief Minister’s post after the formation of Telangana. Later, the Congress workers burnt Mr. Rao’s effigy and raised slogans against him.
