Plea against CISF dismissed

CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has declined to direct the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to include two candidates attached to the airport unit of the CISF here in the merit list for the post of Sub-Inspector.

Justice K. Chandru, who dismissed the writ petitions of Nitai Chandra Roy and Subhas Banerjee, also rejected their prayer to direct CISF authorities to submit the entire selection list to ascertain as to how each candidate has been given mark.

The matter relates to a notification for the recruitment of 168 Sub-Inspectors (Exe) through limited departmental competitive examination for the year 2007.

“No clear case”

“This court is unable to accede to the request of the petitioners for the simple reason that excepting some bald allegations, the petitioners have not come forward with any clear case so as to doubt the conduct of the respondents,” the Judge said.

The Inspector-General and Deputy Inspector-General of North Zone of the CISF had been arraigned as respondents.

The petitioners claimed that extraneous factors and undue influence played a part in the selection.
