Amalapuram: Andhra University Old Students and Intellectual Forum has welcomed film star Chiranjee into political field. They alleged that both Congress and TDP were giving `caste’ colour to his entry into politics and condemned the attitude of the main political parties about Chiranjeevi’s entry into politics. Scientist CV Sarveswara Sarma, Kudipudi Suryanarayana Rao and Nalla Suryachandra Rao, principals of different colleges, lecturers, bank officers, other officials working in different departments had a meeting here on Saturday. Presiding over the meeting, scientist Sarveswara Sarma said that there was a political vacuum in the State as the ruling party and the opposition had failed in delivering the goods to the needy. He said corruption had taken centre stage. He said persons like Chiranjeevi with a clean image could promise good governance to the people. Kudipudi Suryanarayana Rao said both Congress and TDP were attributing `caste’ politics to Chiranjeevi which was not correct.
